Episode 55 - A Famous Song
I translate the words of a famous song called "mon pays"... They are not about separatism, those words are about Winter, love, humanism. Gilles Vigneault was our most celebrated poet and musician and he was a Separatist BUT this song is not about nationalism. It's about growing older, honoring friendship and people you care about in the cold of Winter, owning your life in the Winter making it your friend. Yes there is a bit of nationalist pride in the words "pays", "fidèle", "bâtir maison"... But they are not to be singled out and focused on. The song has to be taken as a whole.
