So we had class today, and we talked about development.
Jon answered questions about his autism today in class, which I think was pretty cool.
We have been sick.

It’s the first day back since the break.
So we had our class, intro to neuroscience, this morning.
We also had a presentation on student voting.
Jon asked questions in both bits. Good ones too. He recounted his experience voting without ID (you can do it).
Oh yeah, Canada won the four nations.

Well, it is the break week after all.
Oh and there was a plane crash!
Happily, everyone is ok. But when Jon heard about the crash at YYZ he knew we had a podcast topic.

It’s the break week.
Jon’s been going to the gym a lot.
Indeed, he went today.
He’s been playing video games, surprisingly…
Jon did very well on his neuroscience test.
Oh, as you can see, we did this one on Zoom, even though we are both home…
The other day Jon said he wanted to do a ‘remote podcast’. Of course what he meant was that he wanted to do a podcast over Zoom like I so often do with my other ones.
So, today after class, Jon headed home and we did some recording!
Today we talked about stress and health in class.
Jon has been enjoying everything at the U so far.
The weather is getting cooler.
I’m not using one of my nice mics, so I don’t sound great…
So my brother Dan and I were to do a podcast today, something came up, but I hadn’t removed it from our calendar.
Jon came up to me and said ‘we should be doing. apodcast’ and I figured he meant the Jonathan Files. Turns out he meant ‘We Have the Technology’.
You know what? We haven’t done one of these in ages, so let’s!
Jon is collecting movies.
Jon enjoyed his term at the university.
Jon is looking forward to the fall as well.
At this rate we’ll do at least two of these a year!
So we were in Sudbury over the weekend and we went to see the Super Mario Bros. Movie.
It was pretty good. I liked it, I’d give it 3 mushrooms out of five, Jon would of course give it perfect.
Oh right, this is full of spoilers.
We both l liked the music in the movie.
Isabelle showed a short film too!
Jon has opinions on season 4 of Wynonna Earp.
They are good opinions.
He liked everything about it (when he likes something he really likes it).
He’s also liked Star Trek: Below Decks. I’m not so sure about it, but I’m warming up to it.
He wants to see season 2 of The Boys. He didn’t watch season 1……
School is starting back up soon too!
It’s episode 183, which, I called 169 for some reason.
Jon’s back talking about his favourite show.
It had a love scene that Jon really liked.
He rates the episode 5 out of 5.
Did I mention he liked the love scene?
It seems to be aimed right at the male 15-24 demo to me.

It’s great to be back ding these with Jon.
So, reason 4 of Wynonna Earp was on last night, and Jon was all over it.
He really loved the episode, which should surprise nobody.
I didn’t ask him for a star rating, but, he did say it got 91 on IMDB.
We also talked a bit about hockey, it’s coming back!
Oh right, this is a Jonathan Files review, so, suffice it to say, it’s full of spiders.

He, Jon hasn’t done one of the since December of 2019.
Well we were out for a drive, and decided to record.
Jon’s been doing a lot of stuff during the pandemic, keeping up with friends over google meetings, playing games, watching his favourite shows, and, working on what he calls his projects.
These projects are basically Jon reimagining what various buildings in the city should look like. It’s kind of neat. He has the style of school architecture down pretty well.

So, because of that, Jon and I recorded on November 30, which some purists will probably see as cheating or something.
Jon hasn’t done one of these in a while, not since his review of the finale of Killjoys. Well he’s back.
We get an update on what he’s been up to.
We also get some interesting Canadian TV ideas.

Jon never used to watch TV shows. Of course he watched movies, but never TV.
As regular listeners to the podcast know, Jon is a big Wynona Earp fan. He also got into Killjoys. Well it had its finale last week and Jonno loved it.
We’ve missed a whole season (summer) without an episode, so we’ll try to put these out more often.
We talked a bit about our summer too, camping in Michigan, trips to London, spilling Sprite on a MacBook air, stuff like that….

Taking a break from the restaurant reviews, Jon’s back at the movie reviews.
Yesterday Jon saw ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’. When he came home he told me he gave it 10 out of 10, so as usual, he liked it.
Jon’s Oscar pool is done, and Michelle Sullivan won! Congratulations Michelle.
The March break is this coming week, so, I’ll check with Jon to see whats sort of stuff he has planned. Right now I can hear him listening to the Greyhounds’ game on the radio.
Out to dinner again!
So Jon of course has his review of North 82. He liked it a lot, giving it 10 chicken fingers out of 10.
Jon’s been pretty busy with various stuff including a dentist visit, and working on his movie and TV show ideas, so he hasn’t yet determined who won his Oscar pool, but that’s coming.
Oh Jon has heard rumours that Wynonna Earp is being canceled. Let’s hope that isn’t true.
We went for dinner. A podcast ensued.

Isabelle had deep fried pickles as well as mac and cheese.
Jon was impressed with Montana’s and would give it 10 wings out of 10. He claims it is his favourite restaurant. That said, he claims all of them are his favourite.

He just saw ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ with his friend Daniel.
I’m typing this before he goes, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he liked it.
We talked a bit about other stuff too, like what we’ve done over the holidays, that kind of thing.
Oh he also talked, of course, about the trailers he saw, can’t forget that.

Last night the two part season finale was aired.
So we decided to do a Jonathan Files review of the show.
It should also be noted, as it has before on Broken Area, that Jon got an autographed Wynonna Earp graphic novel (or comic book, whatever) from Greg David.
I think this is Jon’s first TV series review.
Jon went to see another movie.
It is a movie I didn't even know existed. He may be beginning to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Then again, maybe it's good.
Anyway, the movie is 'Little Italy' which I've not heard of, a romcom sorta deal.
Let's find out what the boy thinks.
Oh it turns out to be a Canadian movie, who knew?

This instalment is his review of Alpha. I had not heard of this movie, and after having read the synopsis on wikipedia, I kinda want to see it.
I am interested in Jonno's thoughts though.
Jon really liked this one. He says it would be a good family movie, though, there is some violence.
