Well, it is here. Yup, the first day of school.
Jon and I had a nice discussion about what he is looking forward to in Grade 8.
Finally, Jon unveiled his new movie series, Closet of Blood......

Finally, Jon unveiled his new movie series, Closet of Blood......
We just got back from another camping trip to Agawa Bay at Lake Superior Provincial Park.
This is probably our last camping trip of the year, as Jon starts school on Tuesday and I start teaching the following Monday. So, we thought why not talk about the Expendables 3, which Jon recently saw with Isabelle.
Oh I think we all know what he gave it out of five......
Isabelle, Jon and I rode up to the University on our bikes. We stopped at our office and we recorded. Jon didn't say much.....
We recorded a Broken Area one night while camping, so as not to be outdone, the next day Jon grabbed my H2 and recorded a Jonathan Files.
We went to Guardians of the Galaxy today and here is Jon's review. I will say this is the best thing the two of us have seen since Captain Phillips.
We went out for lunch and good times ensued. You can probably guess what Jon gave the place out of five.....
Of course we hit up EB Games for a PS3 game as well.
As an aside, Jon picks all of the music for the podcasts, kid has decent taste.
So, we started out on our way to the store and it seemed only logical to do a podcast. This is our first one of the summer, and we have not done one in a while, so we may be rusty...
I've not heard great things, let's leave it at that shall we?....
On our walk Jon decided he should review Tammy. He just saw it yesterday with Jonathan Carnaroli, who is a cool guy that does stuff with Jon. Jon calls him 'JC'. Indeed he seems to have a little nickname for everyone. We ran into a few kids Jon knows as we walked and Jon would say 'Hi For' for Forrest, for example.
Anyway, I typed all of that to avoid typing about this movie. I heard it was horrible. Now Jon, on the other hand, loved it. It had laughs, and car crashes and such, so I guess that is not surprising.
Sorry for the blurriness. This is actually a pretty damned moving thing to see at the side of the road.
We saw a memorial to a kid who was killed by a drunk driver about 10 years ago and looked at it for a bit. The memorial has been maintained by the kid's friends, so that was, while a bit of a downer of sorts, a decent deprive from talking about this horrible movie......
Don't forget to check out Jon's Youtube videos.
Today Jon had a short day at school as he had a dentist appointment.
As we are the family who podcasts together, well, we thought this would be enticing audio for all of you people.
You even get to here a bit of Jon and the dental hygienist!
Jon picked the song between the two vignettes, Beautiful Day by U2. The apple does not fall from the tree as they say.....
Then we got back into the car and headed home.
Jon went to see a movie over the weekend, 22 Jump Street. Indeed, when we finished recording this episode on the way to school one of the kids at Jon's school said 'I saw you at the movies yesterday'. This should tell you that the movie is big with the key 13 year old demographic. (The girl who saw it said she liked it too).
So of course, Jon gave his standard review and rated it out of five. You'll have to listen in to find out his rating, but if any of his previous ratings can be used as a guide, you probably know what he gave it.
Wow, what a difference a week makes.
Today Jon and I talked about how the weather is improving and how he makes his videos.
In this instalment we talked about how I hurt my back and how Jon is making videos. Wait, here's one now!
Oh you might like to hear the episode......
Jon was not too talkative during this one. Probably because he was really sick for a couple of days. That said, we soldiered on and recorded.
It has been pretty rainy lately, and we had to cut this one short because I did not want to get rain on my phone, but it was a good one nonetheless.
Over the weekend Jon, Isabelle and I saw the Amazing Spiderman 2. Jon really liked it a lot. Indeed, after we came out of the theatre he said 'Well, that was exciting'. Isabelle was less impressed with the movie......
I would give it 2.5/5 meaning it just passed. Listen in to hear what Jon gave it.
We also ran into Maddie who was waiting for the bus on her way to work, so we briefly spoke to her.
In this walktoschoolcast I try to explain spatial memory in food storing birds to the boy......
This one was recorded on the way to school and we talked about the standard stuff. It was pretty windy, so I hope the sound is ok.
No school Monday, so no walk to school cast, but Jon did see a movie today which he really liked, Transcendence.
We recorded this one Friday, and, frankly, Jon and I cannot remember what we talked about. I will guess, movie ideas, MLP etc.
While I was away at a conference, Jon went to see Divergent, find his review herein.....
In this walktoschoolcast we discussed how Jon just turned 13! Pretty exciting stuff. Jon started soccer this week, which he enjoyed, as well he got a bunch of movies on Blu Ray for his birthday.
Of course, he also went to the movies and saw Need For Speed. Listen in to find out what he gave it out of five.
A podcast by two people who like to talk about stuff.....
