Episode 107 - The Demographics of Grocery Shopping

OK, that's enough now, I refuse to shovel.

OK, that's enough now, I refuse to shovel.

Back to shopping and back to winter.  Or at least snow.  We got about 10 cm of snow last night and I for one am opposed to it.  Indeed, I refuse to shovel the damned driveway.

We went out a little later than normal today, which explains the later release time.  The nice thing is this allowed Jon to come with us.  I always enjoy his company and his help while shopping.

Isabelle went to the market today before we shopped and she bought stuff.  She also met an alpaca farmer, so you know, that's kinda cool.

It seems like everyone today at the grocery store was old, like way old.

We ended up talking about how different the US is from Canada and why.  Spoiler alert, we don't know why.

Episode 106 - Cultured Cows

Isabelle spent yesterday visiting a friend who has a pottery studio.

Of course you know what Isabelle does in such situations, she makes pottery cows.  So, we talked a bit about why she likes drawing, painting and potting cows.

This led us into a discussion of 'selling out'.  I don't think that is actually a thing, I think it is called 'paying your bills' or 'doing your job'.  That said, it does feel cool when you have something that is made by a person rather than a machine.  Why?  Well I don't think either of us are sure, but it just seems right.

Anyway, so, that was our Saturday shopping trip, enjoy.

Episode 105 - Momma Burgers and Movie Theatre Popcorn

What will today bring?  Join us on our weekly shopping trip and find out!  Man, I'm still using so many exclamation points....

Maddie had a very brief visit with us as she was up for the psychology honours thesis conference.  The conference went well, but Maddie's plane was delayed quite a bit on the way here.  Everything worked out.  We had quite the discussion in this one about work life balance.

I've decided to make movie theatre popcorn.  This involves coconut oil and something called Flavacol, which you can see pictured in this post.  I am way more excited about this than I should be.
