Episode 174 - Wood, Yoopers and Dairy Queens

So, I just got back from the Marshall McLuhan Podcaster Roundtables in Hamilton.  It was a really good time.  For the second year in a row I went down with Mike, the virtual Yooper.  He drove in from Copper Harbor MI, and we then flew from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto, then, on the the GO bus, and we were in Hamilton.

So that was Thursday/Friday, and we came back yesterday.  Isabelle was looking for firewood, and now we have firewood.  Our friend Jody delivered it, and we didn't hear him knock.

Isabelle tried out the Dairy Queen potato skins.

Isabelle recently took a day trip up to Wawa.  Her brother in law once spent five days there, that he'd like back.

Isabelle is still thinking about her final project, it's getting exciting.

Episode 120 - That's One Sirioos Bonfire

Isabelle is back from her trip to Quebec City and Montreal to visit family and I'll soon be off to #MMPR2016.

We brought Jon along this time to the scene of a Jonathan Files restaurant review, Stackburger.  While this never made it to the recording I want to mention that someone in my fb feed the other day called their food 'salty'.  It's not, and if you don't put salt on the outside of a burger you don't get that nice crust, I'm just saying.

While Isabelle was away we tore down, or cut down, a tree that was growing at a ridiculous rate.   It is a poplar I think.  Five years ago it didn't exist.  Today, it was 40-50 feet high.  It had to go.

We were going to go camping, but the weather looks shitty, so no to that.  Staying in the trailer is one thing, staying in it all day is quite another.

I'll have some post MMPR thoughts next week.

Episode 119 - Zero Units Available

The post nuclear hellscape continues on this episode.  This is shown by the accompanying screen shot of the LCBO app.

Jon joined us again on this one, he didn't say much, but he did claim that the city was full of Russian and Chinese tourists.  I don't think that's true...

Isabelle has been working at the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie for the past few weeks and that is pretty great.

I fixed the DC pump in the trailer, by tightening a valve, so really, that isn't much to be proud of, but I did it myself damnit!

Isa is off on a trip to visit family tomorrow, then we're off camping, then I'm off to MMPR 2016.
